Some fans said they felt 'gutted' that Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner could not make the UK premiere of their new movie, Eclipse.
The trio had other commitments that meant they could not be in London for last night's screening.
Leicester Square was still as packed as ever though and some supporters had camped out over night in order to see the other stars of the film.
Actors Ashley Greene, who plays Alice, Kellen Lutz the man behind Emmett and Xavier Samuel who's Riley were amongst the cast on the red carpet.
Meanwhile celebrities including Holly Willoughby, Kelly Rowland and Duffy turned out to see the film.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is out on Friday 9th July.

Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner have walked the red carpet in Rome to promote the latest movie installment - Eclipse.
Despite the heat, hundreds of young girls came to catch a glimpse of the actors with staff handing out water to help cool them down.
Kristen and Taylor were in Rome as part of a global tour for the movie which will see them also visit Australia, South Korea, the United States, Sweden and Spain.
Eclipse continues from where New Moon left off with vampire Edward (Robert Pattinson) and werewolf Jacob (Taylor Lautner) still vying for Bella's affection, played by Kirsten.
The young actress said: "I feel like it is kind of the climax of the whole series, it is sort of when most of the danger takes place. They are out of peril by the time the movie is over so they can actually start the life they have been fighting so hard for".
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is due to be released in cinemas at the end of June.

The cast of the final installment of the Twilight series could be altered due to a dispute over pay.
Stephenie Meyer's fourth and final Twilight novel, Breaking Dawn is thought to be split in to two films due to its size and content.
Summit Entertainment have been in talks to renegotiate the actors' contracts as a result of the change but it's thought that two actors in particular are not happy with the salary offer.
Main stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are reportedly close to signing but Kellen Lutz and Ashley Greene have yet to commit to the film.
Kellan and Ashley play Emmit and Alice Cullen respectively, the siblings of main character, vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson.
It's reported that the actors want a higher salary as they are now sought-after stars and the films are likely to be made back-to-back, meaning they'd be unable to accept other offers.

Twilight heart-throb Robert Pattinson has joked that the fourth film should be "totally hard­core series for adults with nude scenes".
R-Patz told French magazine Premiere: "Can you imagine if they decided to go full out and Twilight suddenly became this totally hard­core series for adults with nude scenes?
"Summit would sud­denly become the most progres­sive studio in the world. It would be funny."
Meanwhile, after months of speculation, distributor Summit Entertainment has confirmed the fourth novel, Breaking Dawn will be split into two films.
When asked what to expect in the fourth series, Pattinson said: "All the tension from the three previous films is resolved in Breaking Dawn. I don't have the script yet but it's promising."
Eclipse, the third movie of the franchise, is due out in UK cinemas on 9 July, whilst the first half of Breaking Dawn is scheduled for release on 18 November 2011.
